1. What is EARN?
EARN stands for the Expert Advisor Rewards Network. EARN is Advice.com's way of compensating writers for sharing their insightful know-how and helpful advice.
2. How do I sign up for EARN?
Signing up for EARN is simple, all you need is an Advice.com Username and your Social Security Number. Click here to start EARNing!
3. Will I be charged any fees by signing up? Or ever?
No, we will never charge you anything for signing up to be a part of EARN.
4. Are there any Terms and Conditions that I must agree to before signing up for EARN?
Yes. In signing up for EARN, you agree to Advice.com's Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and the supplemental EARN Terms of Service. Please be sure to read them before signing up. Additionally, check out our Article Submission Guidelines and Advice on Maximizing Your EARNings.
5. How do I start writing?
From any Advice.com page, click on the "Give Advice" button at the top. Title your article appropriately using the "Advice on" format. Write your article in the space provided. Assign tags to your article. Upload an appropriate and high quality photo, and click the "Post Advice" button at the bottom of the page. If you are giving advice in response to a request, click on the "Write an Article" link in the comment section of the Request. 6. When is my article published?
Articles on Advice.com are published immediately after pushing the "Post Advice" button.
7. Are all my articles automatically entered in EARN?
Yes. All published articles are automatically entered in EARN. It is your job to make sure they are well written, relevant, and to drive as much traffic as possible to your article. For advice on ways to do this, read Advice on Maximizing your EARNings.
8. I published articles on Advice.com before I joined EARN, do these articles qualify?
Yes. All articles that are published under your user name, no matter when they were submitted qualify for payment under the EARN Terms of Service.
9. What are my earnings based on?
You are paid on a per article basis. Your earnings per article are based on a number of elements, including, but not limited to:
Quality of the writing Article popularity Usefulness of the specific, actionable advice Rating average The number and quality of inbound links to your articles Keywords Quality of the photo10. How much money can I make from each article?
There is no limit to how much you can make per article. You can make money off the same article every month. The more popular and helpful the article, the more money you can EARN. For more insights on increasing your earnings, please read Advice on Maximizing Your EARNings.
11. How and when do I get paid?
You will be paid through PayPal. In order to sign up for EARN, you must either create a PayPal account or provide us with an existing one. We will transfer your monthly earnings into your PayPal account by the end of the following month so long as it is greater than $10.00. For more information on PayPal, visit www.paypal.com. It’s free to sign up.
12. What if my balance is under $10.00?
If you EARN less than $10.00 in a month, your earnings will carry over into the next month and you will be paid once your total earnings are greater than or equal to $10.00.
13. How quickly will I get paid after submitting an article?
Your monthly earnings will be transferred into your PayPal account before the end of the following month.
14. What are the payment options?
Currently, we only offer payment through PayPal.
15. What are the tax implications?
In order to sign up for EARN, you will need to enter your basic tax information. All your information is encrypted for security purposes. At the end of the calendar year, if you have earned at least $10.00, you will be issued a 1099 Form. We will also send a copy of this to the IRS on your behalf. You must not be subject to backup withholdings in order to qualify for EARN.
16. Do I retain the rights to my article?
Yes. You retain the rights of all the content, copyrights, and intellectual property that you submit to Advice.com. However, by submitting your work, you give permission to Advice.com to republish, reproduce, adapt, modify, translate or distribute your content. 17. I am not a legal citizen of the United States, am I eligible for EARN?
No. At this time, we cannot pay for articles submitted by non-US persons.
18. Do you pay users under the age of 18?
No. You must be at least 18 years old in order to join EARN. In accordance with our Terms of Service, anyone over the age of 13 can contribute content, but until you are 18 years old, we cannot legally pay you. In addition, we are unable to send payment to a parent or legal-guardian’s PayPal account.
19. How do I change my PayPal email address?
In order to change your PayPal email address, click on the "Edit Profile" link in the upper right-hand corner of any Advice.com page. From this page, there is a link to edit your payment information.
20. How do I change my account information?
In order to change any of your account information, click on the "Edit Profile" link in the upper right-hand corner of any Advice.com page. From this page, there is a link to edit your payment information.
21. What do I do if payment was sent to the wrong PayPal email address?
If payment was sent to an email address that was not attached to your PayPal account, be sure to add it to your payment information. You can edit your payment information from the "Edit Profile" page.
22. I have written several articles, why haven’t I been paid?
Each article’s earnings are based on several elements. The two most important being: 1, the quality of the writing and 2, the article’s popularity. In addition, you will not be paid until your earnings are greater than or equal to $10.00.

Advice.com accepts articles that contain advice on most any topic you can think of and welcomes you to submit your own knowledge and experiences to the site in the form of advice articles. To get a better understanding of what types of articles are acceptable and not acceptable on the site, please review the detailed summary below:
Proper Formatting
1. Title must be in the proper "Advice on" format. A title must make sense when "Advice on" is added in front of the title you supplied in the title section.
2. Articles should contain specific, actionable advice for a reader.
3. Please make an effort to use correct grammar/punctuation, sentence structure, and spelling when submitting an article.
4. If your article has several sections, please make any section headings in your article bold. This is done by putting <b> before the text you want to be bold and </b> after the text.
Objectionable Subject Matter
1. Articles must not contain offensive and/or obscene material, including written words, photos and videos.
2. Articles must not contain potentially dangerous and/or illegal advice.
3. Articles must not have inaccurate facts.
4. Articles must not contain blogging, opinion pieces, personal observations, stories, ads or poetry unless it these are useful to the reader. Our editorial staff will make the determination of what constitutes useful advice.

Spamming/Trademarks
1. Articles that are advertisements or read like advertisements will be considered SPAM and removed.
2. Articles should avoid the use of third party trademarks when it is not necessary to use them. If it is necessary to use a third party trademark in the article, please review the trademark holder's trademark usage guidelines to ensure you are using the trademark properly. As a general rule, all trademarks should be capitalized and followed by the generic name for the product or service the trademark describes (examples: Kleenex brand tissues; Xerox copying services).
3. Articles should never be written in a manner that would suggest that the author or the Advice.com community endorses or is affiliated with any particular third party product or service.
4. Links in your text that lead to external sites must be relevant to the context of your article.
5. Articles cannot include material that is plagiarized from any other person and/or source.
6. Articles you've published on Advice.com and are also published on other sites must be owned by you. To avoid any plagiarism confusion, please make sure the byline matches the byline on your Advice.com account.

Plagiarism
Plagiarism is a serious problem that faces many online communities. In a majority of the cases where an article is removed from the Advice.com site, plagiarism is the cause. In order to clear up any confusion regarding what the Advice.com editorial staff considers a plagiarized article, a few basic guidelines are listed below. Please note that these guidelines are not exhaustive.
1. Submitting an exact or near exact copy of the language and thoughts of another author, with the intention of representing them as your own original work, constitutes plagiarism.
2. Submission of an exact or near exact copy of the language and thoughts of another author, with credit given to the other author's work, is still considered plagiarism.
3. Submitting an article in which the language and thoughts of another author's work is paraphrased is considered plagiarism.
4. Articles you authored in the past that are located on other websites may be published on the Advice.com site as long as they are the product of your own work and you are using the same byline.
