Advice On Fibromyalgia Recovery

The advice and information now available for Fibromyalgia recovery is overwhelming. Where does one start, what does one do to begin the journey to true pain management, good health and deep healing sleep.
With the recent news of the XMRV virus and it's connection to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and possibly Fibromyalgia one wonders if there is really anything that will help in the long run. Well, there is something so read on.
While there is no cure for Fibromyalgia getting your baseline health under control will help the pain and sleep issues (and the brain fog) that goes along with this disabling illness.
Start now to change your diet. Don't wait another day. This is the most important thing you can do. You are what your eat to some degree and more to the point you are what your body actually can assimilate.
Take a high quality multivitamin/mineral supplement (you will be swallowing 4-12 pills a day if you have a complete whole food formula). If the formula doesn't have enzymes in it get a bottle of a whole spectrum formula with lipase, cellulase, protease and amylase, etc. so you can break down everything you eat more efficiently.
A fabulous multi/vitamin/enzyme product (I am not talking about cheap formulations like Centrum or One-a-day) will support your organ systems, give you trace minerals and the stuff of health which people with Fibro so urgently need. Fibromyalgia sufferers are notoriously deficient in key minerals and vitamins. I cannot stress this enough.
Exercise daily, start slow no matter what movement you are engaged in. See the next day how you feel and increase by mere minutes until you are comfortable with 30 minutes 5 days a week. This can take a while but it's worth it. Each day you will do more and get stronger.
Also stretch lightly and strengthen your muscles every day several times a day (see Bonnie Prudden's book Pain Erasure for guidance here), and eat healthfully. We all know that means shopping the periphery of the grocery store - no processed foods! If the thought of this is disturbing to you you are a food addict and it's time to change your ways. Believe me I know first hand about this.
Processed foods are not whole foods - in fact the body doesn't really recognize them as foods at all. All white flour and sugar does for you is deplete your B vitamins and many minerals and trace minerals setting you up for ill health and more pain.
Once you begin a good eating plan (and this will be for life if you are serious about your health) you will start to clear out the toxins in your liver and all the cells of your body. Eating green foods will start a gentle controlled detoxification and you will no longer feel the need to binge as your taste buds and body changes.
Once you have been on a therapeutic lifestyle plan for 8 weeks you will be a different person. You will have less body fat which will reduce your inflammation and pain levels, you will sleep better, and your hormones will regulate stabililzing your blood sugar and adrenal output. Eating well will also reduce your blood pressure if it is elevated and bring your cholesterol levels down quickly.
As stated above it is important to move everyday to increase the numbers of mitochondria in your cells (energy centers of the cell). The only way to get more energy is to do this many days a week to increase your stamina.
I have been helping people for years to find their way to better health while living with Fibromyalgia. There are so many other things to try but getting your basic health on line is the first thing I always recommend.
Remember we are deficient in neurotransmitter production. Once you have cleaned up your diet and your intestines are working better your immune system will improve and you will produce more neurotransmitters for the brain to use as they are manufactured in the gut. This is vital to your recovery and better health.
